Three scrubs that can be used all over the body.
Rose and Lavender Cleansing Scrub
For normal-oily skin. Use every other day.
Yield: 2 3/4 cups
Ingredients: 1 cup finely ground old fashioned oats
1/4 cup finely ground (powdered)
lavender buds
1 cup bentonite clay
1/4 cup rhassoul clay
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon powdered sea kelp
lavender & rosewood pure essential oils (optional) 2-3 drops each
OR
1-2 drops of rose absolute or neroli essential oil
1/16 teaspoon Vitamin E
rose water or witch hazel distillate
1 teaspoon fractionated or virgin coconut oil
1 teaspoon polysorbate 20
local honey*
In a blender, grind the oats and lavender buds to a very fine consistency. They should be as close to powdered as possible. In a large mixing bowl, blend oats, lavender and the next 4 ingredients. Store in an airtight container. Do not refrigerate. Package by the ounce, or as you please. Use small cellophane bags and heat seal the ends. Label with a 2" x 4" Avery label, with a colorful design. To use, blend 1-2 teaspoons of grains with rosewater, distilled or purified water, hydrosol or distillate and local honey. Make a paste and massage into the face, neck and decolletege. Honey is an humectant and will cleanse and hydrate skin gently.
Do not pre-mix water or honey with grains and then store. You may breed bacteria, molds, yeasts or fungi.
