White beeswax.....6 grams
mango butter..... 11 grams
kukui nut oil .....31 grams
shea butter.....6 grams
glycerin USP.....25 drops
5 drops Vitamin E, natural
flavor oil (optional).....30 drops
Process:
Melt the waxes in a sterile microwave safe bowl for 2 minutes at 50% power. Keep heating in short
bursts til waxes are completely melted together. Stir. Add mango and shea butters, kukui nut oil and glycerin. Reheat for a short time (about 30 seconds or so at 50% power) til all is melted together. Stir. Add Vitamin E and flavor oil, if using. Stir again. Pour while hot into waiting lip balm tins, tubs, pots or tubes. Cool thoroughly before using. Makes approximately 3 oz. of product.
| Hint: If you're making a lotion or other body care product with tamanu, hold it to under 5% of the total weight. Flavor with a strong, complimentary chocolate, vanilla, mint or cinnamon, clove, any citrus oil, or anything like rosewood, ylang, patchouli, vetiver or black pepper, coriander or cardamom. These are good scent matches for tamanu. |

Hot Buttered Cappucino Lip Balm
We used Sweet Chocolate flavor oil in this recipe, but you can substitute any flavor oil that's compatible with coffee -- or use none at all.
1 1/3 oz. carnauba wax
2 3/4 oz. coffee butter
4 1/3 oz. apricot kernel oil, other other light oil
1/8 oz. flavor oil (optional)
Using indirect heat, such as a double boiler, melt the wax, butter and oil together. Stir in flavor oil and pour into tubes or pots. Allow to cool before capping.

4 tspns infused olive oil
1 tspn beeswax pastilles
2 tspns mango butter
10 drops 5-fold orange essential oil, or to taste
20 drops Vitamin E, natural
