A member of the Asteraceae family, armoise, or mugwort, as it is more commonly known, is grown in all temperature zones throughout the world. Our armoise essential oil is steam distilled and produced in western Europe. It has a flashpoint of 131F.
Armoise essential oil is clear to pale yellow in color. Its prinipal components include thujones, cineol and pinene. Because of its high thujone level, mugwort is considered an oral toxin. We recommend using it in very small amounts for fragrancing only.
The characteristic odor of Armoise is green and herbaceous and blends well with other herbal oils such as rosemary, lavender, lavandin, clary sage and resinous oils such as oakmoss and patchouli.
